Take a look at the following photographs. Then, respond to the following questions in a 1-3 page essay. Remember to write a rough draft, edit with a peer, and place all drafts in your folder when you are finished.

Photo #1: Look at the facial expressions of these men. What do you notice about the expressions on the faces of the black men, falsely accused of rape, compared to the white men, who are in positions of power over them? What do you see in their eyes? How do the expressions of those standing differ from those sitting? At what point in the case do you think this photo was taken? Why? Include any other observations you make.
